Fees and Payment Information

Session fees

Individual therapy sessions with Dr Jacqueline Spencer run for 50 minutes. The standard fee for a 50-minute session is $267. This is below the Australian Psychological Society’s current recommended fee of $318.

Where eligible, clients may access Medicare rebates with a valid Mental Health Care Plan referral from a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. Medicare currently provides rebates for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year. The current Medicare rebate is $145.25. Rebate amounts are set by Medicare and are subject to change.

Clients are responsible for paying the full session fee at the time of the appointment. Any applicable Medicare rebate is processed following the session and reimbursed directly to the client.

Private health insurance

Some private health insurance policies provide rebates for psychology services. Rebates and eligibility vary depending on your level of cover. Please check directly with your health fund for details.

Payment information

To secure an appointment, new clients are required to provide credit or debit card details at the time of booking. This is to secure the appointment and reduce non-attendance.

For existing clients, payment may be made via bank transfer or credit card. A surcharge of 2% applies to credit card payments.

Sessions run for 50 minutes, with the remaining 10 minutes allocated to clinical note-taking and administrative requirements.

Cancellation policy

A minimum of one full business day’s notice is requested for appointment cancellations or changes. Cancellations made with less than one business day’s notice may incur the full session fee.

When shorter notice is provided and the appointment cannot be offered to another client, the scheduled time is often used for review of clinical notes, session planning, and reflection related to the client’s ongoing care. In these circumstances, the session fee remains payable.

This approach helps support continuity of care while allowing appointment times to be used thoughtfully and responsibly.
